The System Engineer/Linux System Administrator on TTO15 will fill a critical gap on a small team of engineers working to build an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) system. The candidate will participate in a new long-term effort to consolidate a diverse set of systems into a new cohesive solution that improves system manageability and security, while providing enhanced capability, with a strong focus on improved user experience. This individual will utilize their system administration expertise to help manage and guide the early stages of this high visibility effort and build a sound foundation to ensure the project’s continued success. This position is ideal for a system administrator, with leadership experience, interested in taking on more management focused responsibilities and will include little hands-on system administration work initially. The position will grow to include more hands-on SA work and will require the individual to take on team lead responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Work with current owners and administrators to understand existing systems and document/track requirements and problem areas.
Provide direct input for organization long-term efforts and visions for future architecture and design.
Provide system administration functions to fix critical problems or implement stop-gap solutions as part of the transition to the new consolidated architecture.
Translate existing requirements and use-cases of current systems into scalable and supportable long-term solutions.
Implement and support final system consolidation solutions.
Participate in internal engineering and strategy team meetings.
Build direct customer relationships to improve organizational feedback loop.
Skills Requirements:
System engineering experience gathering, documenting, and implementing requirements.
Experience leading intricate projects and small teams.
RedHat (RHEL), CentOs Linux, and/or UNIX experience.
Experience managing NiFi data flows.
Experience with VMWare or associate technologies (ESX, NSX, VSAN, KVM, Nutanix, etc.).
Ansible or other automation platform/methodology experience.
System scanning/hardening – STIGS/CIS Compliance.
Proficiency installing, hardening, patching, and restoring Linux systems.
Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
Nice to Haves:
Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS familiarity.
Understanding of Active Directory or FreeIPA.
Familiarity with nginx, HAProxy, or other load balancer technologies.
Python experience.
Familiarity with Git/GitLab.
Storage Technology experience including hyper converged, SAN, or IP based storage.
Experience supporting managed attribution programs.
RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) and/or RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification.
YOE Requirement: 9 yrs. experience in System Administration
